About Tim Jensen

Tauranga based, Bay of Plenty Travel Specialst.

My wife Sue and I have together travelled to about 55 countries.  I have been involved in retail most of my life in the areas of banking, service station ownership and social work. Being born and bred a local Tauranga man, in 1999  Sue and I bought a central Tauranga travel agency which we grew and operated for 14 years, winning many sales and service awards. During this time, I served as a member of the New Zealand China Friendship Society's tours committee and was a regular travel speaker on Paul Holmes radio show . As part of our business, we have led small-group tours to places such as China, Canada, Alaska, Japan, Cambodia, Borneo and parts of Europe.

I love the enrichment travel brings to people's lives as they experience different cultures, cuisine, languages, landscapes and travel styles. From coach tours to camel rides, luxury to backpacking, trains to tuk tuks - I have experienced many forms of travel and can help craft your travel into memorable experiences. As a cruise specialist, I am a member of the International Cruise Council of Australia and have enjoyed fourteen cruises in various parts of the world so far .

The great aspect of being a broker with Travel Managers is that I can be more flexible, meeting the needs of my clients with a greater range of travel providers. Being more mobile I can meet clients at their home, my home office, a local café or anywhere that suits. Our customers appreciate that modern technology allows us to arrange travel anywhere at any time.

When not involved in travel i enjoy biking New Zealand cycle trails, reading, gardening and catching up with our three children. I also help a local church with administration and am actively involved in the local community.
